In England a woman's station depended on her father's side and then her husband. Gasp! You don't suppose Louisa and Caroline have uncles in Cheapside -their brother wouldn't mind. He's a realist not a snob. Oh! But Caroline and Louisa may have relations called 'Bingley' engaged in trade. No wonder they determine to distance themselves from their trade basis. ;o)
