As bad as his sentiments & expressions are, what I find the most troubling is that he blabbed the whole thing to Lady C. Why in the name of all that is holy did he commit such a gross breach of family loyalty? It was not even remotely necessary to disclose such a highly confidential family matter to a person outside of the family. I realize it was already known by the Lucases and at least some of Meryton, but if he had any real concern for his cousins - or any sense at all - he would have contented himself with discussing the matter with Charlotte.
