Darcy was particularly anxious that none of Bingley's connections learn about it because he hoped, as Elizabeth had surmised, that Bingley's relatives would become Georgiana's. Darcy was planning a marriage between Georgiana and Bingley, and although he didn't believe this plan motivated him to separate Bingley & Jane, it probably encouraged Darcy to involve himself more actively in Bingley's life.
