Darcy's response   Written by Christiana (2/8/2004 11:09 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter45-The Miss Bingley Follies Revisited, penned by Tara O'Donnell
Are you new?

Darcy definitely gets his own back here. His reply to Miss Bingley's cattiness is very artfully worded. First he says he only thought Lizzy pretty when he first knew her--giving Caroline just enough to make her feel satisfied. Then he delivers the knockdown: Lizzy is now more than pretty, she's one of the most attractive women he knows.

Poor Caroline--but that's what she gets for trying to "recommend herself to the other sex by undervaluing (her) own."
