Shipping time for the piano?   Written by kathleen (elder) (2/7/2004 10:01 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Yes, and, penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

] On the point of the piano, I wonder if Mr Darcy bought this item in London when Caroline referred to 'the new furniture' Mr Darcy was buying, in her letter.

This is possible, although I would have thought that Caroline would have anticipated Georgiana's pleasure in that case. I had previously read that phrase as meaning new furniture for Darcy's house in London, but Caroline isn't specific.

I wonder how long it would take to ship a piano from London to Pemberley? Caroline's letter arrived in early December (I believe), and the piano is newly arrived at Pemberley in July/August.
