I thought it might help to lookat some images of Ramsgate.

Here is a picture of the harbour- the only"Royal" harbour in england; so named after it was granted the title by Geroge IV, after the town presented a loyal adress to him in 1821.That certainly was the way to "get on".

However you can see the type of architecture with which Greorgiana would have been familiar.( behind that rather fetching ship).
