Yes, I assume that when Darcy talked about Wickham leaving "the place", it simply meant that he left Ramsgate, which as a seaside resort, probably wasn't a very big town.

I'm quite sure that Wickham was not living in the same house with Georgiana and Mrs. Younge - that would be going too far, even for Wickham!
