So nice of Lady Catherine..   Written by DeborahAnn (2/5/2004 9:35 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Travel arrangements, penned by Line
Are you new?

..to offer to take Elizabeth and Maria as far as London if they stayed later. Did she really mean it though?

To do so would require a complete "redo" of the arrangements already in place at an inconvience to everyone concerned.

PP2 doesn't follow the book with the trip home--PP2 has just Elizabeth and Maria meeting up with Lydia and Kitty. However, in the book they travelled to Gracechurch Street first and left there with Jane for the journey to Longbourne.
Would Jane have been expected to put off her journey home another month as well?

Granted Lady C may not have known about Jane particulary. It seems to me though that she either had little regard for other's when she has an "idea" and the problems that it might create for them? Or maybe the offer was made with her knowing it wouldn't likely be accepted but by making it--Lady C appears to be a very caring and thoughtful person?
