Some theories Written by Christiana (2/4/2004 3:59 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Lady C's kindness, penned by Kristen G.

A couple motivations I think likely:

~The novelty of the Collins' visitors has not yet worn off (more so now that her relations have left Rosings), and so she is endeavoring to tempt them to remain a little longer.

~She's attempting to be "useful" as only Lady Catherine can by offering to escort these poor country girls to London.
