Mrs Bennet and letters Written by Johanna Elisabet (2/4/2004 3:07 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I like both your points..., penned by Mandy N

In the P&P 2 Mrs Bennet takes Janes letter she recieves from Caroline Bingley and reads it aloud, but in the novel Jane reads it herself. In the novel Lydias letters to Kitty was too full of underlining to be made public. It seems that Mrs Bennet in the novel respects the privacy of letters.
