The 1810 watercolour of Allan Melville looks as I imagined mr Hurst to be. Thanks for the link to 1810 letter :) I think it may've been of some use to costume designers of P&P2, particularly of Mrs Bingley. Except in NA, Miss Austen did not give much physical description of her charecters but I now wonder if she wandered art galleries examining portraits, thinking about the charecters behind them then sometimes transferred her thoughts to writing.
