More about Mary   Written by Johanna Elisabet (1/12/2004 6:50 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Comparison, penned by Vanessa M
Are you new?

When I watch P&P2 Mary acts as though she has given up all hope of ever getting attention from her family. She seems more interested in how she can impress with her accomplishments in the society. In the novel she seems to try much more to impress her father and two sisters. I don´t know if I agree that she seeks to outshine them though. I think she´s resolved to be seen by her sisters and wants their esteem and confidence. This leads her to more and more desperate ways of showing them how accomplished she is and how worthy she is of their attention.
