I noticed that Bingley is much less sure of himself and more dependent on Darcy from the opening scene of P&P2. As the gentlemen view Netherfiled Park from afar, Bingley asks Darcy if he should let it.

It seems to me that during these first chapters, JA shows Bingley as a young man who knows his own mind and is confident in his actions and opinions.

I must say, I like JA's Bingley much better than AD's.
