But did he say "Certainly not." in reference to seeing Lizzies muddy petticoat or not seeing his sister making an exhibition? In P&P 2 they divided this into two separate lines with Darcy saying he did notice the mud and later ceartinly would not want his sister to do such a thing. JAs text can be interpreted in many ways. Sorry I didnt think of bringing this up the first week. :)
