We had seen her, but very differently   Written by Chandra S (2/1/2004 10:55 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Dramatic presentation: novel vs P&P2, penned by kathleen (elder)
Are you new?

]Also, this is the first time we see Georgiana in P&P2, I believe, and the image of this young, innocent-looking girl contrasted with the older, more experienced (and nefarious?) Wickham is very dramatic.

We had caught a glimpse of Georgiana once before, during Caroline's letter to Jane "of her being hereafter our sister."

IMO, AD did a beautiful job contrasting these two presentations of Georgiana, in these two letters. In the first, she is shown with a stiff, formal look on her face, greeting Mr. Bingley. Since we had already been told by Wickham that she is very proud, we can interpret her look as haughty and arrogant. In the second view, during Darcy's letter, she only looks very young and a little confused by her first go 'round with "falling in love."
