That almost sounds like Caroline Bingley   Written by kathleen (elder) (2/1/2004 3:08 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Another example, penned by Johanna Elisabet
Are you new?

] ", a message from her Ladyship, importing that she felt herself so dull as to make her very desirous of having them all to dine with her."

That reminds me (from Chapter 7) of the note that Caroline Bingley sent to Jane inviting her to visit at Netherfield when all of the gentlemen are absent -- although that was a little less insulting. I think. :-)

I quite agree with you -- I would not much appreciate such an invitation, either, but it seems Mr Collins lives to serve her Ladyship. He would never dream of disappointing her, I am sure.
