The depth of Bingley's love   Written by Line (2/1/2004 12:01 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I had often seen him in love before, penned by B. MIchelle
Are you new?

I think Darcy convinced himself that Bingley would get over this "love affair" the way he had previously (though I suspect Darcy did not pay as close attention to Bingley's feelings here as he thought he did!).

As to what he would have done if he thought Jane was in love, but Bingley wasn't, he knew Bingley was in love (even if only superficially, in Darcy's estimation). If he had been aware of Jane's feelings, I like to think he would have reacted more sensitively, and, I hope, refrained from meddling in his friend's love life at all!
