Dominating and impertinent   Written by Britt (2/1/2004 8:45 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, ... and Control., penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

Lady Catherine is really extremely impertinent! SHE invites Elizabeth to come and practise on someone elses piano, in that persons private room! In the end of chapter 37 she invites Elizabeth and Maria to come and visit Hunsford - that is, the house of Mr and Mrs Collins! - again, next year. What an extraordinary thing to do!

Appearently noone has had the guts to stand against her - but Elizabeth. I believe, in the beginning of their aquaintance, this makes Elizabeth a very interesting and desirable company to Lady C. It must have been quite a shock to Lady C, when she finds that Elizabeth has opinions of her own, that she´s not unwilling to reveal and that she´s holding on to.
