With the G.R moving on can I refer you to my 'Caroline and Darcy' post. I indirectly mentioned Caroline's conspiring with Darcy there. Concerning Caroline's silly remarks and teasing, I got the impression he didn't like it and really put up with it for the sake of Bingley. I agree she'd be trying hard to gain Darcy's attentions before coming into Hertfordshire. And her jealousy of Lizzy brought out her worst behaviour. Whether Mr Darcy had seen evidence of Caroline's base behaviour before, I don't know. I would also agree Caroline shows interest in Georgiana to court Darcy's favour. Darcy couldn't tell Caroline not to write to his sister but he doesn't seem to encourage her. I wonder if Georgiana wrote more than polite notes back.I think she simply didn't know Caroline very well and Miss Bingley doesn't seem as intimate with the Darcys as she likes to apppear.
