I only saw it this time   Written by Jo Y (1/31/2004 11:52 p.m.)
Are you new?

when I watched this week's episode of P&P2 - has anyone else noticed in the scene when Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam visit the parsonage for the first time Mr Collins going on and on and on to a seemingly disinterested (distracted?) Darcy. It's in the background when Colonel Fitzwilliam and Lizzie are talking, and then there are some close-ups of Darcy watching Lizzie very intently, before he gets up to enquire about her family. While Darcy seems to acknowledge something Charlotte says, he appears to have Mr Collins completely tuned out. Mr C seems to have no idea that Darcy doesn't appear to be listening to him - even when Darcy got up to speak to Lizzie when he was mid sentence the "reverence" with which he then turns to watch Darcy as he moves over to the window - euww!; just like the look at the Netherfield ball after introducing himself and Darcy walked away from him then. Maria is also sitting there looking terrified, or is it overawed! Very funny! I've found myself looking into the background more with this GR and it's amazing what you see. The attention to detail of the characters, even when they're in the background, is fantastic.
