Know thyself   Written by Kathi (1/31/2004 6:09 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, What a man can afford, penned by Line
Are you new?

Perhaps if he loved her enough, he might try to manage on the 180-225 pounds Captain Everett has speculated that they would have (though they would have to wait on the elder Bennets' death for 40-50 pounds of that), but I think he knows himself well to know that he would not be happy with that kind of lifestyle. It's a lot better to recognize that from the beginning than to marry for love and then learn too late that he resents every necessity for economy.
