My question here...   Written by Vania (1/30/2004 12:13 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Miss Darcy's family's hopes, penned by Kristen G.
Are you new?

..is when Caroline says Miss Darcy's relations, did it mean that she and Mr. Darcy spoke about it? I think she may exaggerate a bit. It doesn't sound proper to be so presumptuous.

It sounds like Lizzy may be right, Caroline wants the match to happen in order for another to occur (Darcy-Caroline). I think this is also an example of Caroline thinking so highly of herself and her family's social position. Furthermore, she's revealing how intimate they are with the Darcys. She's distancing Jane from her brother, but with her knowledge of Darcy's opinion of Elizabeth, she may also be sending a message in that direction.
