Miss Darcy's family's hopes   Written by Kristen G. (1/30/2004 12:38 a.m.)
Are you new?

Miss Bingley tells Jane that "[Miss Darcy's] relations all wish the connection as much as [Mr Bingley's] own". Can that be true? After all, his fortune is only half that of her brother's, and his family comes from a background in trade, while her family tree has titled persons in it. Is Caroline dreaming, or is Bingley a better match than I think him? It seems to me that Miss Darcy (who is ever so accomplished!) could do better (as far as worldly position goes ~ whether she could find a better person to spend a lifetime with, I will not venture to say ;-) ).
