Agree/Somewhat Disagree   Written by BarbaraB (1/28/2004 9:21 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Not quite, penned by Line
Are you new?

Yes you're right. Bingley was persuaded by Darcy after leaving Netherfield. Thanks for the correction. I still feel, though, that she switched her original position of feeling it was okay for Bingley to be influenced by friends in the first instance but not in the second. I'm not saying that I disagree with her, only that she sees it differently when Jane is hurt and who wouldn't. I think her second position is more representative of her true feelings whereas in the first she kind of decided upon her point rather cavalierly plus the fact that she enjoyed taking Bingley's side because it was opposed to Darcy's but it all seemed to be done in good spirits and conjecture. It's always so much easier IMHO to take a position in theory; real life can really hit home, I think. Thanks, again.
