Miss Bingley   Written by Annette J (1/11/2004 8:28 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy and Miss Bingley, penned by Mary Frances 2
Are you new?

I agree that Darcy does little to hide what I feel is contempt for Miss Bingley. It is very obvious in both the book and film that Miss Bingley simply cannot get it through her head that Mr Darcy is not impressed (or fooled) by her endless criticism of Elizabeth. He is not likely to change his mind about EB because of the remarks of a jealous woman, but Miss Bingley, with all the subtlety of a woodpecker, will not give up her attacks. JA certainly knows people -- I have seen this same situation myself many times, with the same results.
