I actually interpreted this as Lizzy thinking that Anne and Darcy would suit each other. At this point, they would. Although I understand that not everything is literal, laughter with Lizzy is usually very explicit.

Anne must have been exceptionally thin and small for that period for Maria and Lizzy to notice, IMHO. She was called "sickly" not necessarily ill, enduring rides out in her phaeton, being present at dinner and playing at cassino.
