Lady Catherine is very rude to Lizzy and Mr. Darcy notices it. And Mrs Bennet is not only mother who is pushing her daughter to marry. Mr. Darcy must have realized that if he can stand Lady Catherine then perhaps he can tolerate Mrs. Bennet as relation also.

But if Lady Catherine would have been genteel, wellbred and mannerly towards Lizzy then perhaps Lady Catherine would have liked Lizzy and Mr. Darcy would have liked Lizzy even more...
