Lizzy's view of Mr. Collins   Written by Captain Everett (1/26/2004 9:03 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Lizzy's prejudices...?, penned by MelanieB
Are you new?

I wonder how much of Elizabeth's intense dislike of Mr. Collins arises from him having proposed to her. Before that occured, she could only view him as a pompous nitwit. He was amusing, inclining towards annoying after prolonged doses, but not especially terrible.

After his proposal I belived she would find it difficult to everthink of him without imagining, "I could be the one married to him!"

It adds a sort of "Ewwww Factor" to her viewpoint.

I remain,
Jason E.
