] I think Mr. Collins does come out ahead in this marriage game. As Charlotte is a level headed person. But he is doomed to spend the rest of his life with a woman who disesteems him.

Well, he'll never know that. And he was luckier than he realized or deserved to be. If he had married someone like himself (say, Mary), she might have esteemed him (though not enough not to try to change him), but she would have made him miserable. He's far, far better off with Charlotte, however little she esteems him.
