...I think Mrs. Bennet tends to dismiss her middle children, much in the same way Mr. Bennet dismisses the three younger. Jane is the most beautiful, and Lydia the most like her in spirit, but the others don't seem to matter as much to her.

Poor Mary and Kitty...they can't seem to find common ground with either parent!
