Hullo, Just starting to catch up here, but I must say that I agree with you. Poor Lizzy! Mrs. Bennet does not seem to realize Lizzy's worth at all. I remeber when I was younger, I was playing with my dolls, and my sister accused me of playing favorites. I asked her what she meant, for I was quite ignorant of what "playing favorites" meant. She pointed out that I would purposely make one of my dolls get left behind or in trouble, for no apparent reason at all. Sadly, this seems quite parallel to Mrs. Bennet. Mrs. Bennet's maturity and sense seem to go little beyond her notions of balls and having her daughters married off. Perhaps, in such a state, it is hard for her to understand Elizabeth's true worth.
