because they are linked   Written by Daphne (1/25/2004 5:27 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, -Oh! that abominable Mr Darcy!, penned by Johanna Elisabet
Are you new?

(1) Whenever Wickham is mentioned, Elizabeth thinks of his shameful treatment (according to Wickham) by Mr. Darcy.

(2) Because Mr. Darcy frequently intrudes into Elizabeth's thoughts more than necessitated by the Wickham connection. He comes to mind because Elizabeth begins to feel attracted to Darcy much sooner than she is ready to admit to herself.

P&P is a sort of Mystery Novel. The mystery is that of Elizabeth to herself. She must grow past her delusions. Beyond her Prejudice.
