Why Mr. Darcy is "abominable" Written by Line (1/25/2004 5:22 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, -Oh! that abominable Mr Darcy!, penned by Johanna Elisabet

The reason Elizabeth says this is that, as far as she knows, Mr. Darcy is responsible for Mr. Wickham's lack of money. If he had been able to become a clergyman and have the "living" old Mr. Darcy promised him, he would have a big enough income to marry on. (Yes, Elizabeth really does like Wickham at this point!).
