there is teh rule against perpetuties to consider,but that might be a legal step too far for thsi board ...;-)

However, that fact that Mr Bennet and his relative( uncle or great uncle or whatever !) were estranged,and probably were before Mr Collin's birth, may explain the fact that they did not make contact with Mr Collins( though they knew of his existance as heir presumptive ) before he made contact with them,don't you think?

Whatever the siutuation,there has to be some explaination for the change of name,and frankly, this is the ony one I can come up with, however hard I try .
