Mr. C's knowledge of the Bennets   Written by Line (1/24/2004 10:25 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Some more Collins musings, penned by Art
Are you new?

] Heard much of? Fame? Common report? Who is gossiping about the Bennet sisters all the way out in Kent?

I think Mr. Collins' ears would naturally perk up if anybody mentioned anything about his relatives, and I can certainly picture him making enquiries about them before writing his conciliatory letter to Mr. Bennet.

Also, I can't find the quote at the moment, but I think Mr. Collins had only been "enjoying" Lady Catherine's patronage for a few months before he appeared at Longbourne. I don't know where he was before that, but it may have been a lot closer to Meryton!
