Poor, silly Mr Collins.   Written by Mandy N (1/24/2004 8:07 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Yes, he did, penned by B. Michelle
Are you new?

Collins Snr. is sounding worse than the son! I've always regarded that pompous oddity Mr Collins as ignorant, foolish yet not a cruel man. I'm getting the impression his father was very mean and stinging. Although genteel, I feel he wouldn't come to better terms with Mr Bennet on the entail because he was not a better sort of man. I also take 'illiterate' to mean Collins Snr. knew letters but didn't go to university. ...Yet after such a childhood, Mr Collins, jnr seeks out another authoritarian figure to tell him what to do.
