My impression   Written by Diana (1/24/2004 12:20 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, One thought..., penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

] They continally visit their Aunt Phillips and "Every day added something to their knowledge of the officers' names and connections. Their lodgings were not long a secret, and at length they began to know the officers themselves.'

When I read that passage the first time, my thought was that Mr. Phillips went and introduced himself at the officer's lodgings and after that they could come to call at the Phillipses when Lydia and Kitty were there. I can certainly see the Lydia of P&P2 yelling "Wake up!" outside Denny's window, but I still don't quite see that from the characters in the novel. Maybe I'm not reading between the lines enough? Would readers of the day have read that much into it?
