a fortnight   Written by Diane Margaret (1/23/2004 7:25 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Wickham's Words & Darcy Disregarded, penned by Daphne
Are you new?

You have brought up many interesting notions. I especially like the observatin that Lizzy chastises both Mr. and Miss Bingley for believing Darcy on nothing more than his word while she used the same criteria for believing Wickham.

One thing I am not too sure about is the charge that Mr. Bennet ridicules his wife in public. I know that this is portryaed in the adaptation but I cannot remember a scene in the book where he does this. Also while Mr. Bennet does rate people on their behaviour he also was the one who cautioned his wife about a fortnight not being enough time to think you really know a person.
