Mary, Kitty and Lydia   Written by Johanna Elisabet (1/11/2004 2:47 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, His own amusement comes first?, penned by Ann2
Are you new?

There is not so much in the first 12 chapters about mr Bennets thoughts about his youngest daughters. Every time he mentions them he says they are silly. The only exception is when he gives Kitty leave to cough and leaves the room. It will be interesting to see what thoughts may come up in the weeks to come.

I feel sorry for Mary. Nobody in her family gives her much consideration. Her father could have helped her develop her thoughts by encouraging her. I agree with you that he is an inept parent.
