I noticed this too when I watched this episode. Maybe AD was trying to convey just how besotted with Jane he is that he forgets all his social obligations to be with her. Just my thought.

Another thing I noticed just after this scene, and following on from Vanessa M's interesting list for Ep 1, Lydia shoves past Mary again, just as Vanessa noted she did when they leave church in Ep 1. No love lost there!
