Caroline the knife.   Written by Mandy N (1/21/2004 10:30 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Did she want to warn her?, penned by Nicole L
Are you new?

It is to wonder! How can Lizzy accept Caroline's words in good faith when, as Kathi points out they are based on 'guilt by descent' which in my view turns Caroline's 'warning' into an insult. I agree no warning was intended yet we know Caroline is jealous of Darcy's attraction to Lizzy, I'm surprised she didn't tacitly encourage Lizzy with Wickham. After all if Darcy berated her, she could say 'Miss Eliza was never one to listen to me. And I do not know the particulars of Mr Wickham, sir' Caroline eludes me. LOL!
