She no doubt read between the lines of things that Mr. Collins said about her ladyship. He was obviously a toady and she could well imagine the sort of person that would want an underling like him. Also, his (no doubt) going on and on about the improvments which she suggested *cough*commanded*cough* to improve his home would also have givin Lizzy a bad impression.
