Elizabeth's interest   Written by Ramya (1/20/2004 11:34 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, ...more than we know about, penned by Julianne E.
Are you new?

After witnessing such a scene between Darcy and Wickham, she is naturally curious to know what was going on between the two. She did not lack curiosity, but to enquire more pointedly would have made her unlady-like, and more Lydia-like.

IMO, she does not like Darcy at this point, and she is attracted towards Wickham. The ON says that she dressed more carefully than usual for Wickham's sake, and that she could hardly be civil to Darcy when she realized that Wickham had opted out of the ball!
