From the Choreographer   Written by Jo Y (1/20/2004 1:33 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Now U mention it. Capital , Capital- LOL ! (nfm), penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

Talking about THE dance - beautifully choreographed and much better than the flouncy version they do in 'Emma' - I remembered some delightful comments from the Choreographer, Jane Gibson, in 'The Making of ...' on my DVD of P&P2.

She says that Mr Beveridge's Maggot is a supreme example of country dances of the time; it has a harmony that reflects the period (architecture, furniture, landscape, gardening). There is almost an intellectual fight between Darcy & Lizzie, while at the same time there's something totally harmonious happening between them physically. You should feel when you look at the dance that these are two people who are going to, at some point, really get on extremely well!

Bravo Jane Gibson for a fantastic job on the choreography, just another special part of an exceptional production, and we'll see about D & L getting on ...
