I would say Wickham was bribed into marrying Lydia by --
1. having his debts (something over 1,000 pounds) paid
I think it was more bribe than threats -- for Lydia's sake, surely it is better not to antagonize him e.g. Eliz was unwilling to provoke him for her sister's sake. The threat I believe was more implied -- his debts and having no future ahead of him. Getting his debts paid, his commission purchased for his future career and some regular income from Lydia's allowances was surely better than nothing.
