To me, it was more because of Mr Bingley's merits... among which his "ductibility" as it was a merit in a friend, to Mr Darcy. ;-)
Of course he may have considered that Georgiana, though young, had to marry soon because girls who eloped were supposed to be "in a hurry to marry"; in what he may have been mistaken, as her "intended elopement" was certainly the result of Mr Wickham's and Mrs Younge's ingenuity, rather than of her own biological maturity.
