I don't think Darcy would have considered marrying a woman who did not suit him, but he might have considered marrying a suitable woman he liked but did not actually love. I don't think Miss Bingley was ever seriously in the running. There were other suitable women who would have had a much better chance -- ladies of the landed gentry or even nobility like his mother. Miss Bingley's fortune had been acquired by trade, Darcy might find that as degrading as Eliz's connexions. I believe his plan of matchmaking Georgina was Bingley was mainly caused by his fright over Wickham.
