in consequence of the missive, I think Jane does take some initiative, penned by Ramya
though the stated motive for Jane's visit to her aunt and uncle is for a change of scene, the hidden motive is for a chance to come across Mr. Bingley and get some idea of his feelings
I really dont think so. I think that Jane would be mortified if she felt that Bingley might think she was trying ot get back with him by "coming across him". She is friends with Caroline and beleives that C likes her irrespective of anything that she might have with Bingley. So she keeps in touch with her and is willing to beleive that Caro wants to be her friend. If she had come across Bingley when visiting Caro, I think she'd be a bit embarrassed and hope that he would not think she was chasing him.
