I dont see what you would expect Jane to do. If she were more "encouraging" to Bingley, it woudl be something she wasn't comfortable with, and would I think come across as strained and vulgar. And it WOULD be something that would expose her to criticism from people like Darcy. It seems to me that HE "Damned" Jane, for being calm and not too flirty with Bingley (ie she didn't show her feelings so therefore she has none) and if she HAD been more affectionate to B, he would have criticised her for being unladylike.
