|What is Bingley guilty of?

in consequence of the missive, Less guilty, I agree, penned by Ramya
I think Bingley is only really "guilty" of two things. The first is being too wishy washy and not being confident in himself. He doesn't seem to think very highly of his own thoughts, feelings, and opinions and figures Darcy "has" to be right on everything.
I also think he could be considered guilty of being a bit careless and just not thinking about what he was doing. He didn't set out with the intention of raising Jane's expectations knowing that he wasn't going to honor them (he is not vicious)...he just didn't really think about what his actions might make people think.
Jane does tell Lizzy that he never mentioned an engagement so he hasn't broken any promises or been dishonorable...just careless.
I'd just like to tell Bingley to grow a pair (and to think before he speaks). Lol!
